IT companies in Pakistan are active in providing freelance services and recent reports unveiled that Pakistan is ranked at No. 5 in the world for providing Freelance services. Companies crave to attract more business from abroad and foreign clients but they have to face certain limitations which ultimately restrict their ability to expand. The leading reason that put restrain on IT company’s ability is certifications acquired by the company and porous intellectual property infringement laws. As discussed above companies have human resources trained with Basic IT skills or not equipped with advanced IT tools and expertise. Those who acquire advanced skills either are very few or relocate to other countries in the quest for better opportunities. India, Iran, and China are undoubtedly making sound progress in their IT sector. China is leading with some of the biggest IT companies like Alibaba Group, China Mobile, Xiaomi, and Baidu making a significant international impact. Similarly, India is the biggest hub for producing quality IT graduates and many leading IT companies in the world are led by Indian nationals such as Google’s CEO; Sundar Pichai, Adobe CEO; Narayen, Mastercard CEO; Ajay Banga and Microsoft CEO; Nadella. Apart from this, India is also the single biggest contributor to Freelance services. Similarly Iran, despite lots of international conflicts and issues managed to create an effective ecosystem for IT companies. - Non-Cooperation of Government for International Business Development
Many IT giants in Pakistan are making efforts to invest in foreign projects but it requires certain regulations and procedures to be met for compliance. The government of Pakistan has always been reluctant to extend cooperation to businesses in this regards and businesses find it difficult to bid in certain projects that require strict compliance with certain regulations. One example can be approved by state departments in the USA for specific kinds of product and service marketing. Many governments across the globe promote their local businesses internationally but Pakistan has yet to make any significant global impact in support of the local industry.

The State of insecurity in the country, high rate of unemployment, underpaid jobs, capital flight, lack of foreign direct investments, very few multinational corporations, lack of meritocracy, nepotism, are few indicators of the way people are willing to relocate to other countries. In recent years, large numbers of Pakistanis have immigrated to countries like, USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, and etc. to seek better opportunities in terms of career, education and living standards. The highly skilled workforce from Pakistan readily moves abroad in search of better opportunities. Doctors, engineers, Business graduates, entrepreneurs, have found safe havens abroad for investment and jobs. Similarly, IT graduates most often crave to settle abroad for better returns and learning perspective. By going abroad they equip themselves with advanced IT certifications and engage in lucrative jobs. Many individuals who work freelance or with agencies often land on projects with clients who acknowledge their hard work and efficiency. They are offered jobs and a majority of them relocate to other regions and countries.
Not just the IT industry, Brain drain is the national dilemma of Pakistan and even businesses are not very large in scope they set up their businesses offshore to attract the latest technologies and competent human resources.
